Picture: TfLTrafficNews/Kier Highways Transport for London issued an alert shortly afterwards and a one-mile long section of the A21, between Hewitts Roundabout and Pratts Bottom, remained off limits to cars until around 3.30pm. Police officers, a TfL contractor and the RSPCA are understood to been involved in the effort to round them up and to have contacted the animals' owner before herding back into their field nearby. TfL said in a tweet: 'We have just been told the escaped pigs on A21 Sevenoaks Road have all been recaptured. The road is now open again.' Pictures posted by Kier Highways, a TfL contractor, showed at least three small animals rooting around in undergrowth by the carriageway.
